WOW! This 5'8" Mason & Hamlin model A is a wonderful, wonderful piano. You need to come see and play it!
As you can see from the several photos, this piano has had loving care throughout its life. The strings and pins are clean, the hammers have lots of life left in them, no chips in the keys, the soundboard is perfect, the cabinet is nick-free, and on and on. The warm wood tone of the walnut is just beautiful on this piano. You will look long and hard to find a color that is more pleasing to the eye than this. The cabinet is immaculate. You will find brand new pianos that come out of the crate with more issues than this. Seriously. Been there, done that.
Want more? This thing sounds GREAT! Thanks to the ginormous tension resonator (the thing that looks like a spider) and a big soundboard, this piano really cranks out the sound. It is not a thin, whiny sound like some pianos. It has a full, rich tone which is characteristic of your better-made American pianos. Did I mentioned "better-made"? Check out the thickness of the rim in the photos.....a full 3 inches! My DeWalt tape measure does not lie. That is one beefy rim! If you want stability and longevity, Mason & Hamlin pianos are built as tough as they come. Very solid.

Even down to the moulding on the pedal props, this piano just doesn't stop showing the strict attention to detail by fine craftsmen. There is even some additional carving on the bench that matches the carving on the piano's legs. It didn't need to be there....but Mason & Hamlin just decided it was worth the extra effort.
From top to bottom, this is just a prime example of good craftsmanship. You could pay a whole lot more for a whole lot less instrument....or you can just beat the crowd to Mid-America Piano in Manhattan, Kansas and save yourself a big pile of moolah!
Don't ponder toolong on this piano or you'll miss out. It really is special!
