This 5'8" grand was built and seasoned for the U.S. market and is not a "gray market" piano. Replacement parts can be purchased through Yamaha should you ever require them. This instrument came out of the midwest and has not been exposed to exceptionally moist or dry climates. The tuning stability is great and this piano should provide you with easily another 40 to 80 years of reliable service.
It has a beautiful tone and the action is nice and smooth, easily to play, with lots of dynamic range. Both from a musical and aesthetic standpoint, you should be very pleased with this piano! It features a "soft-close" fallboard, meaning the keycover closes gently and won't slam down on little fingers....a useful feature!
You could go out and spending around $45K for a similar new Yamaha....or you can have this one sitting in your living room for less than 1/3 of that! Honestly, it will be difficult for you or your friends to walk up to this piano and distinguish it from brand new.
