This Wurlitzer studio piano is celebrating its 60th birthday this year....but it looks so much younger! Built in Dekalb, Illinois in 1963, this piano was designed and constructed to stand the test of time.
The light walnut cabinet is in really nice condition and it includes a matching bench. As it typical of most studio pianos, you will appreciate the "toe blocks" or braces on the legs and double-rubber casters on each corner, making the piano very easy to move on tile, hardwood, carpet, etc. These are great for folks who move a lot!
Check out the SIX heavy-duty, oak support posts on the back! These help ensure the stability of the piano when it is properly tuned to A-440 concert pitch, which exerts 20 TONS of pressure on the structure of the case.
The hammers, strings and tuning pins are all exceptionally clean for the piano's age. We would think you should easily receive another 30 to 50 years of reliable service out of this piano, given the care it has received thus far.
You can expect to pay $6500 to $8500 for a new studio piano (many of which are made in China, Indonesia, Korea, etc)....or you can get this Made in the USA Wurlitzer piano for under $1500 here at Mid-America Piano in Manhattan, Kansas.
