You won't find these often. This is a very hard-to-find Steinway model B in the fancy Louis XV cabinet. This is not the typical Louis XV, but the more elaborate design.
This piano has not been restored recently, but sounds TERRIFIC! Is has unbelievable power and a very broad and full tone! If you want an amazing instrument with huge upward potential (play it now, rebuild it sometime in the future)....then this could be the perfect piano for you!
Steinway doesn't build anything larger than the 5'7" M in a Louis XV cabinet any longer, and its cabinet is not as ornate....yet is $141,600 in a similar rosewood cabinet. When you take into account the difference in price between a new "basic" M and B is $35,000, it is easy to conclude this piano would be in the $175,000 range IF you could get one new.
If you do some basic math, this is an awesome investment in a rare Steinway. Period. If it doesn't sell in its unrestored condition, it will undergo a meticulous restoration.
You should see, play and hear this piano in person! Seriously.
The choice is yours.
