This piano is a beauty to behold!
Check out the extreme amount of detailed carvings throughout the mahogany cabinet. The legs, pedal lyre, and music rack are heavily ornamented...and the fancy moulding even extends around the perimeter of the case. The ball and claw stool is also included with the piano.
At 5'9" in length, this Mehlin & Sons grand produces a well-rounded tone and it plays well, too. It will sound fantastic in your living room!
You might note the photo of all the patent dates dating back from the 1800's...and the addresses of the factories, office and "warerooms" in New York City. This is an unique and interesting piece of history in itself! The decal also claims Mehlin & Sons pianos received "Highest Awards Wherever Exhibite(d)". Although we can't verify this claim, it is a rather bold statement and would lead one to believe the company really had something going for it in its day. If you view the piano strictly as a piece of art, you can appreciate the fine craftsmanship that went into it.; however, the piano is a really nice instrument, too. Put these two facets together, and you have the potential for a family heirloom here!
If you want an accent piece for your home, this piano might be the ideal addition! It will definitely turn heads and attract attention......and it isn't a million bucks! The level of detail in this piano is what you would typically find in a manufacturer like Steinway....and you could just add another zero to the end of the pricetag.
We don't usually have pianos this fancy that are under $40K to $50K (or more). If you like the flair of this one, call us or stop in today!
